Widnes POW/Penketh Gun Emplacement.
I know it's been done several times on here already, but this was my first'offical' go at documenting a visit. I have some photo's which I will attempt to upload. If nothing else, they will show the current state of the site and help document the subtle changes that occur overtime (something that occurs to every site mentioned on here)
It was only a short visit, about 30 mins in total. My collegue and I visited about 3pm today (Saturday 19/11) and has quite a good look around. As can be seen from the pics, the undergrowth is getting quite tall in places, especially around the 'offices', and only one of the emplacements is accesible with any kind of ease.
The main warehouse block seems to be deteriorating slowly. We only entered the ground floor, didn't want to risk trying the first floor after seeing some holes in the ceiling.
All told, quite an interesting visit on a dull and overcast winter's day.
