Thought I'd throw some pictures up just to prove that I've been out in the snow and ice.

Just a short dog walk today but grabbed some shots of one of the industrial buildings that used to be for the Loco works.
The works had their own gas and electric power for a couple of years before they joined the grid. I believe that some of the water-ways in the area used the pumping station at Aspull.

Here are a couple of shots that somebody else took on a warmer day.

Saw a couple of other people having a look at some of the nearby holes in the ground but they were miles away from the good stuff.

Thanks man, this building was there to produce electric for the Loco works some-how. The gas worls is also shown on the old maps of the area but there is nothing much to see there now.

There is also an old smallpox hospital shown on some old maps now gone but lots of interesting thngs to find if you look around.

Went back today for some more and had a mooch up to the tunnel that feeds the pumping station. This is what it looks like from the entrance, without a torch .

Im going to be taking my torch out with me this year

Looks like an easy explore but Im not sure how far it goes.
