cheers mate yehh the dockers staircase is still in use by the public think it was also used as access to the garden festival when it first opened in 84

heres a few pics of the old seafarers and dockers stairs that are still in use to this day to the public.

they close at sunset apparently...i dont know how true this is

firstly a fantastic article on these steps

an old picture of herculaneum dock shows the overhead railway coming from undeneath grafton street and to the back of the picture near the 2 boats in the dock the petroleum stores are visible and just about the steps are too




the cobbled walkway above the old herculaneum dock leading to the steps




also found this strange carving below the overhead railway portal, its neither a support for the underneath of the tunnel or some sort of chamber?
