Hi all,

I was looking through my photo albums on Photobucket and remembered this little solo effort I did back in Febuary, and realised I hadn't posted it on here. Its been a while since my visit, and my memory isnt brilliant so my history may be a little short, but I will update it when I have a bit more time.

So HMS Gosling Camp 5, part of the enormus HMS Gosling Naval Training Facility. The Facility was so big it was split into 5 seperate camps. Camp 1 is now under the housing estate in Croft behind the Horseshoe Pub, Camp 2 is now under Risley Prison, Camp 3 is well known on here as RAF Croft, but it was origionally a Naval training station, Camp 4 was in Lowton under what is now a Sports Club (I think) and this is Camp 5 in Glazebrook. I am almost certain Camp 5 was used to train Wren's.

Unfortunatly all but 1 of the buildings have been demolished, although most of the foundations can still be seen, and a lot of demolished walls. This Camp is a large one, and is split into 2 parts, 1 part accessed from the main road and the other accessed from around 400 meters from the road.

Anyway on with a few pictures..........

As you can see there isnt much left, but I have 1 photo left to show, of the last remaining building at this Camp, does it remind you of anywhere???

Its now the Glazebrook Conservative Club, and is undergoing Refurbishment.

Also I noticed that both parts of this camp, have a large raised area in the center, with an almost completely flat top. Its only a suggestion, but could they be bunkers???

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my post.........
