You're probably all aware of the infractions system that the forum uses. It's similar to the points you can get on a driving licence, and I'm sure most people have been given a 'silly' 1 hour, 1 point infraction in the past for a silly or off-the-cuff comment, or even for supporting the wrong football team or being born in the right part of the country (i.e. Yorkshire).
Everyone starts with 0 infraction points and various infractions add different levels of points to your tally.
If you reach ten points your account is automatically banned for a short period.
Don't worry, the infraction points are automatically removed after a number of hours or days!
The "serious" infractions table in full:
Inappropriate language........................................2 points..........7 days
Discussing access details....................................3 points..........7 days
Overuse of TXT or L33T speak.............................3 points..........7 days
Insulting other members....................................5 points..........7 days
General rules violation........................................5 points..........7 days
Circumventing the swear / banned word filter.....2 points..........7 days
Posting or condoning illegal activities..................6 points.........14 days
There are other infractions built into the system:
Signature rules violation
Thread Hijack
Spammed advertisements
Talking rubbish
But these (and in fact many of the above) have never needed to be invoked.
There is also the option for a custom infraction, with points and duration set at the moderator's discretion.
AUTOMATIC BANNINGS
If your infractions reach 10, you are automatically banned for 7 days
If your infractions reach 20, you are automatically banned for 1 month
If your infractions reach 30, you are automatically banned for 3 months
If you have any issues, please feel free to PM an Admin member, or email mail@nwex.co.uk in strictest confidence.
Despite the seriousness of this thread, it does not mean an end to the general
silliness and laid back attitude that we actively encourage on this forum.
