Apologies for this report bring a trifle late.

Some pics of the Humber Bridge being built, taken 1973-1976. Taken on a Kodak Instamatic 126 (with Flashcubes !), and some probably on a state of the art Zenit 12.

North Towers

South Towers - there were severe problems with the foundations on the south bank, consequentially it was finished much later than the North Bank tower. The workers also downed tools and cleared off to build a nearby chimney in the middle of the continuous concrete pouring.

South Bank Anchorage.

Note the roof of the William Blyth Tileworks - still operational at that time ( Tileworks ).

North Bank (?)

North Bank Roadway. These sections were built on the north bank along the shoreline, and were floated into position (under the over-river section) of the roadway.

Roadway almost complete

View from North Bank - cranes still in position on towers.

Ready for Solo1 to walk across.
