Royal Ordnance Factory No.10 aka 'Roften' may once have manufactured heavy AA guns but now it has fallen on hard times and clearance of some of the site has commenced. Much of the rest now stands derelict and boarded up. In July 2009 n10694 posted a report on the "Consol" Firewather Shelter on the roof of this factory. http://www.nwex.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4621

Today, whilst walking the dogs along the Wirral Way I spotted a familiar looking shape perched on the roof of the derelict buildings and was soon investigating. It turns out that this is not the shelter that n10694 reported but another one on the side nearer to Hooton Station.

With the signs out advertising development of "Artillery Park" I don't think this place has long to live, so see it while you still can.
