Default ARCHIVE - Automotive Parts factory - Lancashire 2008 - 16-03-2009, 21:10

I took these last year when a car parts factory was closing. I take a lot of Heavy Transport pics (my reason for being there) and had permission to go in.

Most of my pics are of the truck (a very special heavy haulage model if anyone's interested) and the lifting gear but I took a few which give an idea of the factory.

It was a case of avoiding all of the bolts sticking out of the floor and trying not to slip on the oil which were the reminants of the machinery.

An injection moulding machine

Reversing the Goldhofer modular trailer (all wheel steering) into the factory

Loading an injection moulding machine with heavy lifting gear from Holland onto the Belgian registered truck.

Another piece of British Manufacturing Capability disappears...
