Default Warton Crag, Fairy hole - 17-11-2010, 20:16

Took these on a great day out in Warton, was only meant to be a dog walking day but ended up taking my buddies to a few local holes that I knew.

I'd heard of this place and tried to find it when I was young as I spent a lot of time in the area. Without GPS I didn't stand much of a chance and even with GPS I still can't find one of the caves shown on old maps of the area.

We went into this place but not very far because as soon as you enter there is a steep drop. The place is full of litter and building material .

Well worth a day out in this area and plenty to see and do.

From how far I went in it didn't look like much of a crawl, was quite big really. I'd love to know how far it goes.

I can't type at all today Even the thread title is wrong "Fairy Hole"

I did a report on Dog Holes cave in the public area thats very nearby to this. My friend might have some pictures of inside I'll ask him to mail some over if he has, was full of littler and all sorts of junk in there though.

I posted this one in here as it looks a little bit tricky to get in and out of and I don't know whats inside.

Thanks

I wouldnt worry about peoples competencies in getting in and out of holes - its up top them to decide their limits/level of interest. If you want to keep this pace away from public eyes whilst you investigate then it belongs in here.

I wont be going back in there!

Well worth a day out around there though, there is lots to see in the area and lots of holes!

The place is packed with history if you just want a stroll (like me) or packed with adventure which I'll leave to the others.

Im really not sure With no rope with me I didn't go in. Doesn't look like the same one though as it had only one entrance.

I have seen some cave maps of the area but for "Dog-holes" cave.

Great picture though I plan to go in next time Im up that way
