Transmitter Tower – South of Manchester – April 2011

The location is pretty irrelevant as these things are everywhere once you look yet don’t seem to get explored much. This is a shame because they are beautiful structures once you get up and inside them.

This is the tallest one I’ve climbed at roughly 200ft and I’ve done it a few times over the last couple of years. Id never photographed it before so I recently decided to go and see if I could do this thing some justice.

It’s in a fairly quiet area. It’s a different kind of intensity as you get climbing cranes in the city so is pretty chilled but at the same time the single 200ft ladder can be a bit of a head fuck, especially when you have to navigate a massive birds nest half way up.

The infinity ladder, I’ve always loved ladders. This one is a classic.

There’s virtually no room up here and it sways like a mofo.

I climbed down just as the sun started to rise

By the time I got to the bottom and out it was daylight..

Cheers. Sho
